The first stop on The Thompson Tour
Jasper Park is ranked the number one resort course in Canada. After one round and one night at the lodge, it quickly becomes apparent why Jasper enjoys this distinction.

Looking back down 14
Lac Beauvert is one of the more picturesque holes at Jasper. It offers a tee shot that requires a carry of 160 yds. over the lake. That is, if you are playing it safe. For the more daring, you can cut the dog leg with a driver by going through a small opening about 230 yds.(all carry) to about 100 yds. shy of the green. During our visit, Alan Carter, Jaspers club professional did this with alarming reqularity.
Mike & Mark Teeing it up on #8
Jasper's Lowest handicapped hole. I had my doubts as to this par holes rating after a par(4) on my first round. After 5 rounds however, my stroke average was somewhere this side of six. I would rather not say which side.
Mark on 14
If you look to my left you can see the tip of the tee block on the other side of the water. I played it safe and was left with a approach of 180 yd's to an elavated green. (see picture of 14th green at top of page.)
Jaspers layout
Just add the lodge, mountains, black bears and some Elk. Toss in a couple of moose and the sun reflecting off the lake and you start to get the picture.

Water Doesn't Scare Me
It's the moose on the fairway that gives me second thoughts. We called him Bucky. Trust us - he was there. You could hear him (and so could his girlfriends) but we only saw him on one occassion. He added a whole new dimension to our game - over the water, left of Bucky and right of the trees.
Hey - Where Were You Guys?
Jerry just loves guys who can't tell the difference between twilight and moonlight golf. We kept him waiting a while for the cart but made it up to him with a couple of frosty's and a few stories about Bucky.
